Colonel Charles A. Moore

Col. Charles Andrew Moore is an Army brat, growing up in Maryland, Hawaii, and Texas. He attended Mississippi State University and was commissioned as a Medical Service Corps Officer with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biochemistry. He also holds Master’s Degrees from Mississippi State University, the US Army Command and General Staff College, and the US Naval War College. He transferred to the Logistics Corps in 2017.

Col. Moore began his career as an Environmental Engineer at the Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine-West, Fort Lewis, WA. He then transferred to the 2nd Cavalry Regiment (2CR) as it transformed into a Stryker Brigade Combat Team at Fort Lewis, WA. When 2CR was re-flagged to 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Col. Moore commanded F Forward Support Company, supporting 1-38 Infantry Battalion during the Surge in Iraq. He then served as the Medical Logistics Planner for 1st Theater Sustainment Command and deployed as an operational logistics planner to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.

Col. Moore was selected to serve in 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) (3rd SFG(A)), with multiple deployments to the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force- Afghanistan. Following resident US Army Command and General Staff Officer Course, Col. Moore was an Observer/Coach/Trainer at the Mission Command Training Program prior to attending the School of Advanced Military Studies. He then served as a G35 Future Operations Planner in XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, NC, with a deployment to Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve. Col. Moore returned to 3rd SFG(A) to serve as the Commander of the 3rd Group Support Battalion, sustaining Special Operations Forces across Africa and the Middle East. Following Naval War College, he served in the United States Army Pacific G4.

His military awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit (1OLC), Bronze Star Medal (1OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with Valor (1OLC), and Army Achievement Medal (3OLC). He is authorized to wear the Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, and German and Dutch Parachutist Wings. He is the 2014 awardee of the Major General James M. Wright Master Logistician Award from the Command and General Staff College Foundation
