A September 2021 mandate from AMC requires all new vehicle leases and purchases must be all electric Non-tactical Vehicles (NTVs) first choice, hybrids when electric solutions are not commercially available and conventional gas vehicles by exception only.
As light duty vehicles reach their lease end, they will be replaced with an electric vehicle (EV). Several EVs were ordered in December 2021 and are beginning to arrive on Depot.

To accommodate the EVs, the Army is improving its charging infrastructure. During the next two years, ANAD is scheduled to receive 49 electric charging stations. In the meantime, ANAD is scheduled to receive 13 solar chargers in the next few months.

AMC is working with a contractor for the purchase and installation of the chargers. Two on-site meetings are scheduled with the contractors in January to begin the plan of installing the level II chargers.
